Dollars & Sense
- There are important economic factors to consider when contemplating the purchase of a well-engineered, modern wind turbine, for example:
- Wind resource at your location
- Annual electricity usage
- Your energy cost per kWh
- Escalating energy costs
- Permitting and Installation
- Ongoing repair and maintenance
- Performance history of the wind turbine A Wind Specialist can assist with the above and any additional requirements for turbine installation.

Incentives
How do Feed-In-Tariffs work?
On April 1, 2010, government introduced the Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) system, an incentive program offering above-market rates to individuals and businesses producing clean, renewable energy. Its national goal is to cut carbon emissions by 34% and produce 15% of all electricity from renewable sources by 2020. . The carbon emissions goal was further increased to achieve an 80% reduction by 2050.
The Feed in Tariff Program will pay 25.1 pence for every kWh produced by the Endurance 50kW wind turbine. In addition, a further 3.1 pence is paid for every unused kWh placed back on the grid. These payments, coupled with savings in electricity costs, contribute to the income earned with a wind turbine. The Endurance E-3120 will produce over 217,000kWh in wind regimes of at least 7.0m/s. In an average case scenario, customers expect to realize an ROI within 5 years, and under the FIT program, payments are guaranteed for a term of 20 years from installation date. However, because the program is based on the market utility rate, rising energy costs will actually provide a larger payback and turn the turbine into an appreciating asset.
Your wind turbine will continue to supply your energy needs even after the contract expires.
Results:
- Potential 20%+ return on your investment
- Potential payback in less than 5 years
- Energy production for 20 year term of the government FIT program contract and more
Individual results may vary. A local Wind Specialist can provide you with a more thorough analysis based on your wind speeds, installation conditions, and energy consumption.
